Cingular GSM v. digital31 Oct 2005 19:45 GMT20
Digital phone service is being phased out.  Why?  It (still) works
better than the GSM network, in my opinion. In fact, I don't receive a
good GSM signal where I live. Ever since Cingular purchased ATT
Wireless, it seems Cingular has been secretly heading a campaign to

Does Cingular support virtual numbers?30 Oct 2005 16:39 GMT3
I've been crawling all over the Cingular website, but can't seem to locate
any info about them being able to generate virtual numbers.  Does anybody
reading here know otherwise?
If not, anybody have any recommendations for such a service?

I live in the Chicago, IL area and since a few days ago, my TDMA
service has become unusable for talking. I can still use the phone for
paging or sending text messages, but cannot talk. I can dial someone,
they pick up their phone, but then we don't hear each other. I
Central Wisconsin29 Oct 2005 01:28 GMT12
This summer I was in central WI (between Oshkosh and Portage) and
encountered a fairly large area with no signal.  Calling Cingular got me
nowhere fast, just "we don't have service there."  Of course last year with
my old Nokia (non-GSM) phone it was no problem.  Now I have a v551 ...
AIM For Treo 65028 Oct 2005 17:47 GMT1
I see Cingular wants to sell me a version of AOL Instant Messenger to use on
my Treo. Only $20 and ten cents per I.M. and it looks like you have to have
an AOL account. Waddadeal! Been using AIM on the 650 for the last year
without a hitch. The unlimited internet account I signed ...
