Mobile ProTech is the best cell phone insurance I have found13 Dec 2005 05:30 GMT3
I am looking to get a Blackberry and as expensive as those things are
and as attractive as they are to thieves I need to insure it. I had
other friends who had major problems getting companies to pay up on
their policies so I learned who not to go with but this company seems
Re: my AT&T experience...13 Dec 2005 05:25 GMT5
..of course, as a prior ATT wireless customer for many years on TDMA I have been very satisfied with that service alas now gone for me.  I do notice many of the ATT customer service people were formerly with ATT and are sometimes nicer.  The would, in the past, refund anything ...
Re: my Cingular experience...13 Dec 2005 05:22 GMT2
Of course, I preface this by saying most posts here have been negative.  Further, Consumer Reports just panned Cingular in it's most recent issue.  I was with AT&T but did NOT port over to Cingular.  I let my contract lapse and got new Cingular fones (2) for us both from a ...
Tethered Data Connection Plans13 Dec 2005 04:06 GMT164
Even with a product code, some Cingular outlets have no idea what I'm
talking about.
Buddy has a $24 per month plan (added to his voice plan) that allows
unlimited data while tethered to his laptop and it does not come out of

I'm looking at picking up one of these two phones but would like to be able
to use it as a laptop modem as well from time to time.  Can anyone give
their personal experience using either of these as a laptop modem and how
easy it was to setup and the throughput results?
New 64K SIM came in the mail yesterday12 Dec 2005 22:43 GMT4
I got a 64K smartchip SIM from Cingular in the mail, saying I should install
it in my old phone for improved roaming.
I called to make sure it would work in the phone I'm using which is
different than the one I got from them (which my son is using), and
Cingular balance under $10 - kiss it goodbye -- UPDATE12 Dec 2005 18:50 GMT2
A few months ago I cancelled my Cingular account, porting my
number to Verizon. I was on a corporate discount, and after I
had paid what I thought was the final bill, I got another bill
showing a $3.93 credit for the corporate discount, which it

EDGE phones and tethering11 Dec 2005 22:39 GMT4
Hello!  It's getting to be about time to renew my contract with Alltel
or move over to something else.  I've been eyeballing Cingular because
I have very niche needs with my phone.  In the Spring, I drive all over
the plains chasing and photographing tornadoes.  I require a phone

Q: Why is charging of Motorola phones so slow on the travel charger?
A: The standard travel charger packaged by Motorola with many current
phones puts out insufficient power for fastest possible charging and for
continuous use while charging.
Xpress Mail and PDA/CellPhones10 Dec 2005 05:08 GMT1
I recently purchased the HP iPAQ 6515 and I installed XpressMail v6.3.8
PE for PPC2003 to try out the service. It doesn't work as expected - I
only get an inbox and calendar/contacts, no other folder sync as it
should, sometimes it doesn't connect, and frequently it requires me to
