Couple questions M55 / 3390 31 May 2004 00:05 GMT1
What's a "good" battery re-charge cycle on a Siemens M55.
Manual says 3 - 4 hours. I'm thinking, from full-flat, 5 + hours.

Should I stay with Fido? Change phones? or Change carriers?28 May 2004 15:48 GMT6
I'm in Ottawa, and I have the Mitsubishi G310.  I'm getting a lot of
"Call Failed" messages. A search showed that back in 2001, people
blamed the phone. But, they're rather predictable, usually around 5:00
pm.  I also lose incoming calls: phone rings, caller id is displayed,
city fido vs $40 plan27 May 2004 19:33 GMT13
I see that the cityfido for $45 includes the system "fee" of $6.95.
Currently am on the 400/$400 plus the $6.95.
Is there any reason not to switch from a 400 minute account to an unlimited
account for virtually the same monthly charge?

'HELP! My Nokia 8390 doesn't work in my room! UPDATE25 May 2004 06:41 GMT6
After debating on the switch to another service provider and new phone
because Fido absolutely sucks in my northeast Toronto apartment suite, I
decided to call up Fido to see what they had to say.
The rep was really nice and offered me a Nokia 6340 dualband free of charge.
TELUS make a bid for Microcell21 May 2004 03:14 GMT13
Yup, that's right. Say goodbye to CityFido, per second billing and
cheap US roaming rates. Maybe your GSM phone too.
Just say "NO" to Telus, if they come 'a callin'20 May 2004 17:49 GMT23
If this takeover bid goes through, we fido customers will face the
prospect of getting new phones which may or may not match the quality
of the GSM fido phones we presently have. I shutter at my next
suggestion, which would be to unlock our GSM phones, and switch to

Telus offer, a very rough take on the numbers19 May 2004 16:04 GMT2
Telus is offering $1.1 Billion for Fido, with just over 1.1 million
customers, so they are paying about $1000 per customer.
I looked at some numbers, given that Fido is pushing prices down, it is
likely that the demise of Fido could lead them to an effective increase
