Has anyone managed to make the Fido GPRS card work on Mac OS X?
I am running OS X 10.4.1 on a PowerBook G4 which has replaced my ThinkPad
T41. The card was actived on that machine using a Windows-only program that
made the connection and reset the network.

Should this phone work with Fido? Anyone using it? How about the Samsung
D500?

I'm trying to connect my Z600 to my palm pilot tungsten T3, so that i can
access webpages on my palm....
(the bluetooth conenction works fine..)

I have been a fido customer for 2 yrs. When I subsribed they required a $250
security deposit (Even though I own 2 houses) I switched to Bell and havew
been trying since January to get my security deposit back. They keep saying
that they are either processing it or that the check is ...

Anyone using a smartphone under Windows mobile 2003 with the Fido
Network ? I am having MMS problems with a SMT5600 of my own lately and
would like to compare settings with other users... also do Fido still
support CSD to dial from a GPRS device to an ISP modem bank ?

Does Fido or Rogers support MMS to other GSM carriers?

Anyone notice that their phones are beginning to lose "Fido" as an
available  network selection based on location?
I've had my HipTop locked onto the Rogers towers for the last week or
so, and decided earlier today while in the Pickering area to switch

Anyone expiring enhanced service without ordering it. I have been able to
use rogers when fido is too week. ( Kingston road along the southside,
Toronto )

From the May 14 Globe & Mail column 'Streetwise' there is a discussion
on the internal struggle at Bell over a potential bid for Microcell.
This is a subscription article so I can't post a URL, but I did find the
following quote interesting:

Although Fido has finally fixed their picture messaging service, I still
cannot send a sound to my phone.
The picture messaging feature on their website allows to send Text with
Picture and Sound messages to the phone. Last week it wasn't working and

I was told this week-end by a Fido CSR that since Rogers took over and
started merging the two network, the replaced the fido 1900mhz band by
Rogers own 1900 wich is flaky to say the least. According to him, buying
a 900/1900 phone since the merger was a complete waste of money ...
