I have a Wavecom WMDOD2 cell modem and it has a 15 pin seral
attachment.  I am not sure how to connect this to my PC and wonder
where I can get appropriate adapters.  Also, the power connector
confuses me.  Will the power be derived from the serial connection?

I have the option of a GSM tri-band phone with either 850/1800/1900 or
900/1800/1900 bands. I know that in major metropolitan areas I'm using
(T-Mobile) 1800.
What is the extent of 850 band usage in the US? Am I going to get that much

I'm here in the Netherlands and just  got a Vodafone NL pre-paid SIM
card.  I also have a calling card "Mobile Caller" that has a local NL
number 0800-02*****. The calling card works fine from my hotel phone,
but I get a call failed message when I try it on the Vodafone mobile.
