If you're in Spain as a visitor (i.e.: foreigner), are you able to purchase a prepaid mobile phone in one of the stores like FNAC or would you need to prove residency or bring some other kind of paperwork?

Does anyone know of any handsets that actually support AT commands via SIM Toolkit? I have a Siemens SL55 that claims to (in its terminal profile) but doesn't understand the command (0x34) and the Blackberry phones I have don't even send Terminal Responses.

So, I power up my Nokia 6100 GSM tri-band, and all that comes up is the "Contact service" message. Is the phone dead? Should I bother calling Nokia customer support in the USA, seeing as how this phone is not a model sold in the USA?

I have a "Fixed Wireless Terminal model GW1000BL" which is a device that takes a SIM chip and supplies dial tone back to any RJ11 device plugged into it. I am trying to use this terminal as a means to communicate alarm signals from my home alarm to the central station.
