Can anyone tell which is better Nokia N96 or N95?

Are there any free S60 or Java programs for a Nokia N75 which will allow
me to use the infrared port on the phone as a remote control for my TV,
DVD player, etc?

Live in the USA and am in Thailand where I spend several months a year.
 My old phone gave up the ghost and here can pick a used N95 8gb in the
box for a good price.  However, I've read on the internet that there is
a different US model available that is G3 -- the one here is ...

sorry if this is a stupid question. If I buy a 5800 off nokia.co.uk will i
be able to put a sim card from any company in it and expect it to work, or
is it like the iphone, ie only sim cards from o2 or some other company will
work in it?

On a trip to Malaysia I got myself a Nokia 5800 - nice phone and works fine
here - however can I change the firmware to the UK version - if so where to
I get the latest UK firmware?
