I'm currently doing some research on GSM networks and was wondering if
anyone could point me at some information on how an SMSC interacts with a
mobile handset? I've searched high and low on the internet and I all I can
find are research papers detailing how an SMSC works ...

I need a secondhand phone and was thinking of buying one off ebay. Someone
told me that if the phone was stolen, it could be identified and disabled by
the phone company (even if the sim card was changed) and you would have a
useless phone. Have I understood this right?

I've just got my Orange phone this morning, and I have registered it on the
Orange site,and had the verfication code sent to my phone, and choosen my
password through the site, but I can't logon, I go to the sign in page and
it signs in fine with my mobile number and password, but ...

Currently I have an O2 contract and want to swap to pay as you go with
O2. What I want to do though is keep my phone number, I have called O2
and they tell me I cant port it over to pay as you go.
Any ideas on how I could achieve this  ? Would porting it to another

Carphone Warehouse have reflashed my Sony Ericsson T610 (bought Summer
2003) because it kept on freezing.
Now when I power it up, it just gives the message "Invalid SIM".BTW,

Call timers, incoming and outgoing
