Virgin MMS & GPRS WAP work perfectly02 Jul 2004 10:35 GMT15
I've just got the settings sorted for my 6600 & Virgin sim. MMS works
perfect, i emailed a pic and tone to my o2 email address and it worked
first time no probs. I also have got GPRS WAP working perfectly, nice
and fast again with no probs.
Current phones with a sensible battery life02 Jul 2004 10:29 GMT3
We've just got a couple of Nokia 6100s to replace some very old
Motorolas.  Their batteries last about as long as the motorolas' did
just before they finally gave up, and laughably less long than my
6310i.  They're usable, but you don't want to go far from a charger.

Moving to Spain - which networks / contracts worth getting02 Jul 2004 04:05 GMT5
A Relative of mine is moving to Spain soon (Mojacar) and will require a
mobile phone contract/pay as you go service. She has already got an unlocked
samsung phone so doesn't necessarily need a new phone - although she would
consider getting a new one.
Orange UK - CSD 14kb and Treo modem speed \ cost??02 Jul 2004 03:25 GMT2
I have free minutes that I use to log in to my ISP \ mail via GSM \
CSD of 9.6kb at present.
The Treo (270) has an option for using the 14KB limit in the stream.
Anyone using 14KB within their free minutes?

on Orange HSD) for a 'full speed' data handset.
Can anyone tell me which phones do offer full ,2 channel, sending data rates,
particularly SE and Nokia models.

When can I move tariff on Orange?01 Jul 2004 20:27 GMT4
I bought three of the Orange/CPW 3510 £225 cashback offers that were
popular around Christmas.
Seemed a good deal as the year cost was £75 for 120mins per month
each.
Virgin GPRS01 Jul 2004 19:44 GMT4
I have tried to switch Virgin Mobile's new GPRS service on, I have a
Siemens S55 phone. Their website has a facility to automatically send
the settings, which seems to have worked however when I want to access
the Internet it is requesting a PIN. Which PIN would that be, it's not ...
Contacting O201 Jul 2004 19:25 GMT4
Does anyone have an e mail address for the online pre pay service?
I've tried wading through their stupid badly designed website and am
still unable to get anywhere, keeps on insisting i enter a mobile number
even though I haven't got my sim card yet!
6230 music transfer01 Jul 2004 18:54 GMT6
Me again :(
Getting very frustrated with the MP3 aspect of this new 6230 I have.
The Nokia music proggy is a total PITA.  Once the phone is connected, I
can see the standard folders, and seem to be able to transfer files to
another "ring us back" scam ?  (07061751xxx)01 Jul 2004 18:18 GMT7
Had a half-second of ringing on a phone, from a personal number.
I know that businesses can get non-geo numbers presented, but this was
the first time I'd seen a non-mobile, non-08xx number shown.
NB Unlike a premium rate (09zzz) number the network cannot split any
Stopping SPAM on Vodafone01 Jul 2004 17:53 GMT8
I recently bought a new phone/contract from Vodafone. From the moment I
switched the phone on I started receiving the following message:
