| SMS Delivery Receipts | 26 Nov 2004 08:19 GMT | 13 |
I don't know the correct terminology, but when people send me sms messages they have the option of getting a notification of receipt, I find this really intrusive, and would really like to disallow people from doing this.

| New phone for daughter (not a swap) | 26 Nov 2004 03:25 GMT | 21 |
Our 14 year old daughter seems to have been quite happy with her little (re-cased by me, that was fun) Samsung A300 till now .. She says 'it's falling to bits' but offering her another (I was given another A300 by my mate) doesn't seem to be a solution?

Does the old trick still stand whereby you can port your number out from ie t-mobile to virgin for a month then port back in to get the best deal?

| Mobile phone advice | 26 Nov 2004 02:58 GMT | 2 |
Lad wants a pay-as-you-go mobile phone for Xmas. Rather than got to the usual outlets with over inflated prices, there are a lot of phones on ebay. If I just bought a phone, would it need to be unlocked? And how do I get hold of a pay-as-you-go sim card.

Our village hall needs a phone line (incoming and outgoing inc 999), but there are few calls each year. Mobile coverage is marginal - OK from high up on the building, but not reliable at normal levels. Having just installed Broadband-by-wireless at the hall (from local

| Orange have a Text Saver problem! | 25 Nov 2004 21:17 GMT | 4 |
Orange have a problem with some Text Savers, namely not giving free text. Check your balance from around the 18th November and give them a ring on 450 option 2 then option 2 (cost 25p so they say but I'm not so sure). They will investigate and ring you back to refund..........well ...

| Orange Upgrade and ED50 | 25 Nov 2004 19:13 GMT | 4 |
Its upgrade time. I'm currently on ED50 and have a monthly bill of ~£40, and £10-15 on 18866. I'm getting pissed off with the lack of cross net calls, I'd prefer to ring the people cross net. I can't be bothered with the dial 0870 numbers overnight malarky to get points for cross ...
