why are 3G contracts 18 months long?

I have a BT line and I get a nuisance International call every single
day - the actual times vary. Nobody talks but they eventually just
hang up. Is there any way I can bar these calls as the number is
unavailable? I've considered ACR and Choos To Refuse but these

a few months ago I got a new mobile phone and signed up with Vodafone's
"Pay As You Talk" service. As soon as I switched on my phone I started
to receive Spam SMS Messages. Within three days I reckon I received
about 60 Spam texts. I forwarded all of them to VSPAM (Vodafone Spam)

on and went to search for a contact and got the message "Selected memory
empty". I went to 'settings' then 'memory in use' and made sure it was

[Sorry, I screwed up - starting new thread]
Getting big problems here that started last Friday (the 1st).
Before that there were no problems. Now I'm lucky if I can actually
make a call, mostly all I get is background talking, like an office.
