Backhaul to Orange Mast08 Sep 2005 00:57 GMT12
Orange have just installed a new mast in the village of Auchenblae. The
aerial and the wiring is not yet in place.
While I assume the power comes from the nearest electricity pole, how is the
data / telephone backhaul provided. Do they buy some sort of line from BT to
Orange Scam?07 Sep 2005 23:48 GMT5
On my wife's new Orange bill, there's a big box at the bottom hoping she
enjoyed her free 3g data bundle under their try scheme, and they had now
moved her on to Orange World 4.
Now my wife doesn't have a 3g phone, and never asked for such a bundle -
Breasts and sheep!07 Sep 2005 22:50 GMT1

I see from his website that he expects to be back at the end of August, but

Rather than hassle him during his paternal leave-of-absence, does anyone

And then transfer back to my network and come in as a new customer?

Who invented the 18 month contract?07 Sep 2005 21:37 GMT10
Does anyone know who invented the 18 month contract?
To my knowledge it was that slimeball blood sucking TMobile.
(Yes you can guess, I've been ripped off by T Mobile once too often.)
The 18 month contract is another way of squuuueeezing more out of
Virgin GPRS - full net or just WAP07 Sep 2005 21:37 GMT13
I'm considering swapping to Virgin. Does their GPRS access provide
proper net access (so I can use the phone's email client) or just WAP?

I have a Nokia 6670 which I have just fitted with a MK3 dual SIM adaptor,
which fits OK and works well.
However, when changing SIMs, the following message appears:
"Allow SIM update? Phone will restart."
W800i and the police07 Sep 2005 20:27 GMT20
What's the situation, it's on but set to audio only and the police stop you
for using it while changing tracks.
I suppose it's like having a TV and disabling BBC............then trying to
prove to the licensing authorities you're only watching ITV.
Changing voicemail settings on a Nokia 7600 (with Three)07 Sep 2005 19:56 GMT1
I had my phone factory reset and for some reason when I hold down the
number '1' it connects to the Orange voicemail service, despite it being
a Three USIM, with a number ported to it from BT Mobile. Does anyone
know what I'd need to do in order to make the phone operate as it

ICE contact numbers - easy fix for annoying Nokia bug with duplicate numbers07 Sep 2005 12:55 GMT18
I found the Nokia CLI bug annoying with having duplicate ICE numbers in
my Nokia 7210 and my girlfriends 7250i address books.
If you have an ICE contact which is a duplicate of another number in
your phone book (ie ICE mum and Mum), then your phone doesn't show the

Orange Retentions offering cheap Broadband07 Sep 2005 11:32 GMT1
Friend of mine asked for his PAC today from Orange, was offered 12 month
broadband for £9.99 per month from Wanadoo with a 2GB data allowance.
Seems that the merger is starting to bear fruit.
