| cheap phone- great reception (for Virgin trains) | 09 Mar 2006 21:53 GMT | 10 |

| Unable to call new Tesco SIM | 09 Mar 2006 21:14 GMT | 8 |
I'm just in the process of playing around with a Tesco Mobile SIM my wife brought back from shopping. It seems that I can make a call from the new SIM but calling back gets the "It has not been possible to connect your call" message. However, I can text the number OK.

Newbie question here, so be kind... I will be going on holiday to Japan and China soon and would like to have a local phone. I've been hearing about the PHS system overthere and think this might be a good way to go. Some questions first.

| The unknowing WAPper | 09 Mar 2006 16:28 GMT | 5 |
As a simple old soul, I've just about mastered using my Nokia 3120 for making and receiving calls and even text messages. Then one day I pulled it out of my pocket and saw something I didn't understand, and can't remember, on the display, so I turned it off.

The wife is looking for a phone to replace her Z600 which is well past it’s prime. She has decided that she likes the look of the Nokia 7370, which has everything she wants on it. So far so good. However, due to where we live it needs to be on O2 (the nearest base station is 200m ...

| Slight O/T: spamming | 09 Mar 2006 01:12 GMT | 7 |
Lots of drivel on the newsgroup this month - why can't ISPs block it? I administer many networks throughout the UK, it's piss easy to implement a spam-filter. I mean that crap about loans, that's easily filtered. I know each ISP in the UK has a differing policy, but my ISP (NTL) ...
