cheap phone- great reception (for Virgin trains)09 Mar 2006 21:53 GMT10
The Virgin Trains reception problems are well known. However, I've been
in so many situations where I've had no workable signal and other people
have, I'm convinced that a phone with better reception would make a big
difference. Would a network make a difference too? I've no clue ...
Unable to call new Tesco SIM09 Mar 2006 21:14 GMT8
I'm just in the process of playing around with a Tesco Mobile SIM my
wife brought back from shopping. It seems that I can make a call from
the new SIM but calling back gets the "It has not been possible to
connect your call" message. However, I can text the number OK.

PHS phones in Asia09 Mar 2006 17:41 GMT2
Newbie question here, so be kind...
I will be going on holiday to Japan and China soon and would like to
have a local phone.  I've been hearing about the PHS system overthere
and think this might be a good way to go.  Some questions first.
The unknowing WAPper09 Mar 2006 16:28 GMT5
As a simple old soul, I've just about mastered using my Nokia 3120 for
making and receiving calls and even text messages.  Then one day I
pulled it out of my pocket and saw something I didn't understand, and
can't remember, on the display, so I turned it off.
Uploading mp3s to a Samsung Z50009 Mar 2006 12:36 GMT3
Would anyone know if this is actually possible using the USB cable and
software provided by Samsung? When I try to drag-and-drop a file to the
phone, I get an "access denied" message.

Orange OVP09 Mar 2006 10:06 GMT6
Sorry a common question I imagine.
What is the best OVP deal around at the moment for someone of moderate
use and wanting to keep the bill low?
TIA
Nokia 7370 on O2 Anywhere?09 Mar 2006 09:02 GMT1
The wife is looking for a phone to replace her Z600 which is well past
it’s prime. She has decided that she likes the look of the Nokia 7370,
which has everything she wants on it. So far so good. However, due to
where we live it needs to be on O2 (the nearest base station is 200m ...

O2 duplicate bills09 Mar 2006 07:14 GMT1
How much do O2 charge for duplicate bills
If I have a bill from O2 with my temporary number on it, then after my
number has been ported I request a duplicate what number would be on the
bill? I ask this because I have a cashback contract that needs the number
Slight O/T: spamming09 Mar 2006 01:12 GMT7
Lots of drivel on the newsgroup this month - why can't ISPs block it? I
administer many networks throughout the UK, it's piss easy to implement a
spam-filter. I mean that crap about loans, that's easily filtered. I know
each ISP in the UK has a differing policy, but my ISP (NTL) ...

Typical!
3 days after receiving a w800i on Orange £30 tariff (had to pay £49.99 for
the handset), it's now free on that particular tariff!
Should've waited :-(
