I have been reading all about this software problems, but I have another theory: the network providers that decided to take it away from their offer are just fearing that the combination of WiFi and VoIP facilities dents their business.

No sure if I'm in the right place but here goes: I have bought a samsung s401i and had it unlocked to use with virgin. But I can't for the life of me understand how to send a picture message. Read the manual which is of no use. I'm on PAYG virgin and have the virgin settings.
