Further to earlier posts I'm going to buy a 2nd hand blackberry.
Looking on ebay I see that in the cheap category (<100 pounds) there
are the 7130s, 8100s and the 8700s). I've seen some 7290s but they all
seem worringly cheap!?

Can anyone suggest a good cheap contract deal (or PAYG) that includes a
decent (pref. unlimited) data package.

Is there always a number for a normal fixed-landline connected to an
0844 (0845, 0870, 0871, etc) number?
If there is then could I always ring the fixed line number instead of
the 0844 number?

Hi, I got an usb sim card reader and I want to save my short messages

almost every second day ...most of the time it's on standby .

payg service and I always thought that tmobile and virgin networks would
