Orange in roaming ripoff shock!12 Feb 2008 17:57 GMT11
I recently spent a week in India. I attempted many calls back to the UK
without success, or so I thought.  However, Orange take the view that a
call that presented me with silence (no tones), or a dropped call before
I got ring tone still count as calls and have billed me £1 ...
Unbranded Nokia E51 on 3?12 Feb 2008 16:51 GMT3
I'm considering starting a contract with 3, and would quite like to use a
Nokia E51.  Am I likely to face any issues buying a SIM-free one and putting
a 3 SIM in it?  One eBay seller states that they think this won't work, for
unspecified reasons...
Orange PAYG roaming withdrawn12 Feb 2008 09:10 GMT8
Orange roaming for PAYG appears to be going backwards.
PAYG roaming in Singapore no longer works. Orange customer service are
unaware of the problem and their final solution was to move to another
network (Voda PAYG works just fine on all 3 Singapore networks). A

Orange PAYG SIMS's locked to handset?11 Feb 2008 01:27 GMT6
Is it possible to use an old Orange SIM (circa 5 years) with a new
Orange PAYG handset and just ignore the new, as yet unused SIM ?
The user (not me and I'm doing this remotely!) keeps getting asked for
a security code.  12345 doesn't work,  yet when the old SIM is moved

Phone software modding - what's legal?10 Feb 2008 08:16 GMT10
I know that changing the IMEI is not legal in the UK.
So, is anything else not legal?  What are the advantages of updating
firmware, or de-branding?
Which phones are easier to do this stuff on?
Increase the amount of time before call divert on Orange PAYG?10 Feb 2008 05:57 GMT6
I'm using a Nokia N80 on Orange PAYG.
It currently diverts after 10 seconds of ringing to my answerphone.
Although the N80 gives me options to increase this to 30 seconds(under call
divert), if I try to do this - it errors saying it can't do it.

Vodafone European broadband09 Feb 2008 12:45 GMT4
Our company travels a lot around Europe and we're currently looking at
options for wireless broadband, none of which are so good as to make us go
"yup, that's the one".
The Vodafone £25 a month for unlimited looks good for the UK but it's always
Premium rate quiz scam!!09 Feb 2008 12:42 GMT2
I've somehow managed to join a premium rate quiz system. I suspect it's
either something to do with an Apple ad or maybe signing up to Nokia text
service for a festival. Either way, either I didn't read the small print or
it was never there but I had a series of about 10 text ...
O2 iPhone tariff improvements09 Feb 2008 10:54 GMT20
<http://www.o2.co.uk/iphone/o2tariffsforiphone>
So it looks like O2 have decided their old iPhone tariffs weren't attractive
enough and realised that minutes and texts are more important for most users
before worrying about "extras" (inclusive or not) like unlimited data and
