My inlaw's may be looking at a signing up for a cellphone.  Since it

Anyone know if the unlimited "Night & Weekend" minutes apply when your phone
says "Extended Network"?

Last weekend my Verizon Wireless Kyocera cell phone went into the lake
along with the anchor.  It was in my pocket and I guess it flew out.
I need a replacement phone.  I talked to CS and they told me I had to
buy a new one starting at $120.

Does Verizon have any AMPS only Areas?
ANy maps showing that area?

I mean it has only caused problems for me.  Somehow I miss a
call only to find that I I have activated manner mode.  
Aparently it kills the ringer.  Well why have it if all I gotta
do is kill the ringer with silence all when i dont want a call.  

Any opinions on the LG VX-6000 phone.  I am considering upgrading my phone
and wanted to know the pros and cons.

I was looking at the new LG VX6000 and noticed it has no AMPS ability. With
Verizon is there any reason to need this for New York City?

Am I correct in assuming that GetItNow apps don't cost air time? I saw no
notice when I launched GetItNow or any of the demo apps.
Also, I tried Soda Pop and for a few bucks a month its pretty good. Anyone
have any warnings against using it for regular POP accounts?
