Number porting15 Nov 2003 00:26 GMT6
I know that now you can switch your residential phone number to a cell but
I've got a home based business and one of my phone lines is classified as a
"business" line rather than a residential one. Can I switch that one too?

Planning to upgrade your Verizon Wireless phone?  Beware...................14 Nov 2003 23:32 GMT16
This is information I just found out today, and it incorporates a one month
old Verizon policy. The source is from someone in Verizon's Executive office
so I believe the information to be credible.
Past practice, and even when I was with the old Ameritech Cellular store,
To Roam or not to Roam14 Nov 2003 16:54 GMT5
On a couple of phones under options I have seen the option (but it's never
already set/selected) to "Never Roam". What I wonder, is with all the
hassles/expense with roaming unintentionally on Americas Choice, will
selecting that option stop roaming unintentionally? If I am ...
50113 vs. 50113v2 PRLs14 Nov 2003 15:25 GMT14
PRL 50113v2 has been released and here are the changes compared to PRL
50113.  Some of the details of the SIDs were obtained from
www.justalurker.com and www.mountainwireless.com   I'll start with the
"bad" news and work towards the "good" news.  Some changes in priority
Wireless Number Portability vs. Reverse Billing14 Nov 2003 12:23 GMT7
I live in a rural area and on October 31st I discovered that nobody could
get ahold of me. Much to my suprise, dialing my 989-683-xxxx Verizon
land-line number would reach "We're sorry, you must now dial a 1 or 0 plus
the area code to complete this type of call."--regardless of how ...
Changing plan question.14 Nov 2003 04:50 GMT8
I am on a shareplan with Verizon between 2 phones.  I changed my plan.  I
went to a service center where I bought the phones and he did it for me.  He
told me it wouldn't take effect until tomarrow and that I have to dial *228
then option 2 after midnight.  Is this normal when you ...
Rate Plans and Number Portibility14 Nov 2003 03:25 GMT3
I'm looking to change plans (and probably get a new phone since I'm locking
myself into another year anyways). Does anyone know if the number
portibility rule will lead to the rate plans becoming any more competitive
or having any other bonuses to keep or obtain customers?
well, so much for that14 Nov 2003 03:03 GMT4
I went to Verizon's web site to ask these questions I've been wondering
about the NSR with unlimited n/w, Here's part of the answer:
Dear David Streeter,
Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website.
Free incoming calls on USCC14 Nov 2003 00:28 GMT2
I maintain both USCC and Verizon numbers and USCC just offered free incoming
calls. Changed my plan as this could amount to a lot of minutes depending on
what you have going on. Anyone think Verizon will start with the same?
Nokia 3589i SIM Chip Socket?13 Nov 2003 22:40 GMT3
I opened a 3589i at a store the other day while I was playing with it
and noticed that under the battery section of the rear compartment
there is a socket for a SIM chip, complete with gold plated connetors.
I have no idea if the socket is electrically connected to the phone
Get it now feature13 Nov 2003 22:37 GMT1
When you use get it now to download a game or ring tone does that
count toward your minutes or is it free to download?
LG VX310013 Nov 2003 19:51 GMT1
Any comments about this phone, good or bad?
Watch TV on A SprintPCS phone13 Nov 2003 18:36 GMT3
As I was watching the local morning news on ABC while getting ready to go to
work, I caught part of a story, that I can neither find on Sprint's web site
nor on ABC's web site.
They said Sprint PCS will soon offer the ability to watch TV on your cell phone
First Incoming Minute and Holidays13 Nov 2003 16:12 GMT12
At one time, Verizon always advertised that the first incoming minute was
always free.  I haven't seen this lately and can't find anything on their
website.  Do they still honor this?
Also, most federal holidays were considered off-peak minutes.  Do they still
Trouble updating phone book w/ AOL IM Wireless w/ Verizon13 Nov 2003 15:19 GMT2
Need to remove and add some buddies for my AOL Instant Messenger
lists to use with my Verizon Wireless cell phone.  Been using the
service for months, but need to make some changes in list of
30 names allowed for this.  If you go to
