About a week ago I turned on my 4400 and the outside LCD not longer works.
It lights up with all the different background colors but no longer displays
any text.  Can this be fixed for less than the cost of a new phone?  And if
so...how?

Can the phone be flashed while it is "locked" or "restricted"? Do I need to
have certain amount of free space in the phone's memory to flash? What is
the chance of failure and what are the possible causes of failure?
