I'll be traveling to Alaska in January, staying in Healy, and driving to
and from Fairbanks. Can anyone shed some light on VZW's coverage up there?

Porting Success Story01 Jan 2004 19:19 GMT1
Since there have been a number of posts about problems with number porting,
I would like to report how happy I was to see how easily my girlfriend
switched from Verizon to AT&T (so much for my mobile-to-mobile minutes now).
Anyways, she received the AT&T phone in the mail two days ...
GIN Accuweather upgraded!01 Jan 2004 19:03 GMT2
Accuweather is actually kind of useful for tracking incomming storms,
through either a satellite or radar view. Viewed on my nice AVX 9500
color display it's pretty good. Lots more weather info and almanac.
Accuweather now has a "premium version" and is much better than the

Question about activating a Free-Up phone.01 Jan 2004 18:10 GMT3
I live in the Greenville, SC market.  If I go to Columbia, SC and
activate a FU phone there (with a Columbia number), will VZW have a
problem with this?  I have a friend in Columbia who is undergoing
cancer treatment, and I'd like to have a local number for her to reach
Fixing the screen problem on Kyocera 223501 Jan 2004 17:53 GMT1
As people on this group may be aware, the early units of the Kyocera
2235 have a design defect that shows up over time. Here are my
experiences with the issue and how I was able to fix it:

Re: New Cell Socket? (where)  to Hook Your Motorola CDMA Phone to your Land Line Phones01 Jan 2004 15:46 GMT1
Hey Larry (Fortune) (<larryefortune@comcast.net>) Given 600 people have
bought the new ones, and 2000 were on order to meet the demand, you'd think
we could fine 1 who has it and loves the Motorola version, don't ya think?
The thread on the Cell Socket has gone dead.  I never ...
v60s Alert Reminders Not Working01 Jan 2004 08:01 GMT1
On my v60s, I only get the initial alert upon a received text message and/or
voice mail.  I've checked the REMINDER option in SETTINGS/ALERTS and it is
enabled.  Is anyone getting REMINDER alerts on the v60s?
Will Verizon match competitor's prices?01 Jan 2004 05:43 GMT19
My contract with Verizon has recently ended, and I'm considering a
switch to T-Mobile.  Although there coverage isn't as broad as
Verizon's, their monthly rate is $10/month less with the same features
that Verizon offers.  I already have a phone that works on T-Mobile,

Unable to call cellphone from landline phone 01 Jan 2004 00:36 GMT10
Up until two weeks ago there were two separate landline phones in my house
(two completely different phone numbers). I had one of the landline phone
numbers ported to a Verizon Wireless cell phone and now when I try and call
the cell phone from the landline phone, it tells me that ...
