Special Numbers for Verizon Phones28 Feb 2004 05:10 GMT6
I'd like to add to the list of "special numbers" (I don't know what
else to call them) that I can use with my Verizon cell phone.  Here
are the special numbers that work for me in the NY/NJ area (may not
work in other markets):
missed call or missed message reminder27 Feb 2004 21:31 GMT2
I have a V60i, and if I miss a call or message, the phone 'beeps'
every few minutes to remind me. This is a very important feature to
me.
I need a new phone.  What current Verizon phones will AUDIBLY beep a
Samsung SCH-a530s: Terminating a call by closing phone?27 Feb 2004 21:28 GMT4
I'm enjoying my new a530s, but can it be configured so that closing the
phone ends the call?
I have already configured it such that opening phone answers the call.  I've
read about Auto Answer, but I have no interest in having the phone pick up
How Secure Is A Digital Connection?27 Feb 2004 18:54 GMT21
How secure is a digital cel phone transmission on Verizon?  I am
assuming it would be very difficult to intercept a digital
transmission without sophisticated equipment, and someone who really
knows what they are doing?  My daughter is paranoid over giving out
LG VX4500 / Mobile Office Kit / LG Data Kit27 Feb 2004 16:45 GMT2
I just purchased an LG 4500, along with the Mobile Office Kit.  The
sales guy told me that it was the same as the LG Data Kit (which I
didn't believe) and that it would sync Outlook contacts and calendar
(which I semi-believed).
SNPP or WCTP Gateway?27 Feb 2004 15:16 GMT3
Does Verizon have an SNPP or WCTP gateway to send messages to its
cellphones?  If so, what the the address?
Thanks!

NEW PHONES: Looking to swith to Veizon.27 Feb 2004 13:32 GMT3
I live in NJ, and travel all around the East Coast (maybe into the
mid-west) for work.  I'm currently with Nextel, however, the
connectivity wasn't the best to begin... and it is only getting worse.
I want to switch over to verizon, but I hear the phones aren't
Verizon's alphabet soup: what do MTN, A, MN, MNR and MNF stand for?27 Feb 2004 13:26 GMT9
At verizonwireless.com, when looking at account activity information, two of
the options listed are MTN Summary and MTN Charges.
What the heck does MTN stand for?
Also, when doing an analysis of calls, they list:
VZW IN-NETWORK27 Feb 2004 07:50 GMT2
Does anyone know if you have to sign-up for a new agreement to get the
in-network plan?
When I check my minutes on the phone it shows M2M/In-Netwrk.
Thanks
V60s - "nor ring" and low volume earpiece?27 Feb 2004 06:32 GMT6
I just got a GL VX4500 and am fairly happy with it. Voice recognition
works pretty well and Drive Mode is nice. However, the speakerphone is
just OK, and I wonder about the voice quality. I'm considering a V60s,
but have heard mention of the no ring problem as well as a generally ...

Bluetooth & Motorola 270C27 Feb 2004 02:45 GMT1
Does installing the bluetooth module on the Motorola Timeport 270C decrease
battery life?
CDM9500 and text messages26 Feb 2004 21:01 GMT4
Anyone know if it's possible to disable incoming text messages on this phone?
I've looked through the manual and if it's there.. it's eluding me.
TIA

San Francisco - quality of Verizon service?26 Feb 2004 15:12 GMT4
I'm wondering about the qualtiy of Verizon service in San

I have Verizon in NYC and am, overall, very happy -
LG 4400 question about games/software26 Feb 2004 02:12 GMT2
I just upgraded my phone from the VX10 to the VX4400.  My question is,
are their free games/apps to download off the web/newsgroups/etc?
Can you use the future dial cable to upload them?
Thanks, Corey
