| Voicemail speed dial | 21 Mar 2004 06:36 GMT | 7 |
My Verizon phones have voicemail preset to speed dial #1. The problem is that I can't find a way to edit the entry. I want to put in a hard pause followed by #, my password and # to simplify the process of logging in and checking voicemail. Anyone know if there is a way to modify ...

Several days ago I purchased two Motorola T 730 phones with Verizon. I am happy with many features on the phone except what is probably the most important---Voice quality. Does Verizon have other phones with better voice quality? (I am

| Nokia 3589i | 20 Mar 2004 07:32 GMT | 2 |
Question to the group: Is there any way to connect a portable external antenna (like a mini mag mount) to the Nokia 3589i? I was in the Verizon store recently and did not see an RF port. I have heard that there is in fact one, but it is under the back cover,

| Verizon heavyhanded renewal tactics | 20 Mar 2004 06:42 GMT | 16 |
In the past, Verizon has let you go month-to-month after your contract expires. But it seems this has changed. I've got a Family Plan (2 phones) that I upgraded to last May. Verizon contacted me today to see about me re-subscribing. I decided I wanted to

| New phone, changed service, no message indicator | 20 Mar 2004 03:07 GMT | 2 |
Ok, I recently bought a refurbished 6035 from Verizon to replace my dead one. Excellent. I can send SMS messages now. Next I changed to one of the national plans. Either National Singlerate or America's Choice. I forget and it's not showing up on my account page yet.

| MNF on Bill? | 19 Mar 2004 23:57 GMT | 1 |
On my bill, a number of calls list the usage type as MNF. According to the legend, "F" stands for Forwarding. Since I've never forwarded any calls, I'm wondering about this. Clearly, they must mean something other than what I think of when I say "forwarding."

| CDM8900 has J2ME? | 19 Mar 2004 23:16 GMT | 3 |
The Audiovox website is simply awful - it doesn't give complete specs for their phones. Neither do their owner's manuals. What's a geek to do? www.phonescoop.com says this phone supports J2ME, but I can find no mention of it, nor documentaion. Actually the site says "carrier

I just purchased a V60s and would like to ask this group a couple of questions. 1) When my phone is open, the outside lid displays Verizon Wireless. Is this a PRC indicator (verizon, extended, roam) or just to let me know who my

| Converting MP3 to QCP directly | 19 Mar 2004 16:04 GMT | 2 |
Does anyone know of a Linux or Windows tool that can convert MP3 files directly to QCP (PureVoice)? I know I can decompress the MP3 to WAV, then convert to QCP, but I'd like something that could do it in one step. Thanks.

| Should I update my PRL? | 19 Mar 2004 14:45 GMT | 3 |
I have a Motorola StarTAC 7798 with a Single Rate East plan (no roaming charges in the Northeast whether or not I am on network or not (unlike American's Choice plans). The billing envelope encourages people to update the PRL. Is there an advantage for me to do this since I am ...

| Looking to upgrade my ST7868 to Motorola V60s (is it a good move)? | 19 Mar 2004 11:19 GMT | 54 |
I have a startac 7868 that has been VERY good to me over the years and I think its time to upgrade to move from East Coast plan to Amer. Choice. I hear the V60s is a good sensible Tri mode phone with a great speakerphone (I commute 3 hours pr/day) if you can still find them...and I ...

| SIM card analog | 19 Mar 2004 05:25 GMT | 3 |
Does Verizon's cell technology support anything like the GSM SIM card? Being able to transfer account info, phone numbers, etc., from one handset to another simply by moving the card is very attractive. P.
