My wife and I are going to get our first cell phones. We aren't
interested in games, camera (we have 2 digital cameras), etc. Just
excellent phone functionality.
After reading this group, it seems our best choices would be Nokia

A friend just switched to VZW and activated two new phones on an AC
Family plan.  We checked the VZW web site to see what data options the
plan included, as per the discussions going on here.  Sure enough,
there was mention of "National Access" among the call forwarding,

My 7 month old LG VX4400 has started to shut off without warning when
the battery level is good. Removing and replacing he battery does not
bring it on. If I put it into the desk charger or car charger for just
a minute, then I can turn it on and it will keep going for another
