| Alltel Deal Much Better-1300 Minutes- Left Verizon After 12 years | 19 Apr 2004 02:07 GMT | 10 |
I have been a Verizon customer since the early 90s when it was Bell Atlantic Mobile, but switched yesterday to Alltel. I live in the Carolinas and Alltel offers a "local freedom" plan now with 1,300 anytime minutes in North or South Carolina, plus unlimited night and

| Blackberry | 18 Apr 2004 20:00 GMT | 2 |
I currently have Sprint coverage and have had it for many years. I travel about 21 days a month throughout the entire USA and use my phone extensively. My plan is also great, $85.00/month for 2000 anytime minutes, shared between my wife's phone and mine, unlimited night and ...

| "My Account" Down In OH (and perhaps MI) Today | 18 Apr 2004 18:15 GMT | 1 |
Apparently, the conversion isn't done yet. Despite notices earlier to "come back on April 18th", VZW has shut down the "My Account" access for those of us in the Ohio market all weekend long. It's supposed to be back up tomorrow.

| LG 6000: how to prepend numbers? | 18 Apr 2004 13:43 GMT | 4 |
The LG manual purports the phone to be able to prepend area codes to memorized numbers, but I haven't figured out how. The instructions have been less than helpful: Prepending a Stored Number

| New York State Employee 19% Discount | 18 Apr 2004 12:13 GMT | 18 |
I was told by the salesman this would just appear on my bill (I produced NYS id on purchase). Of course, it didn't. Customer Service is now telling me I have to fax in a particular document to get this. Can anybody confirm if this is how it works?

| vx4400, USB, and win98se help | 18 Apr 2004 10:01 GMT | 8 |
I have Googled this group and banged my head on the desk a lot so it's time to ask for help. Last fall I used my laptop and vx4400 for Express Network without a hitch. I have the FutureDial straight USB cable and the FD drivers.

| Does Verizon Permit "Off-Plan" Calls? | 17 Apr 2004 18:57 GMT | 5 |
Still trying to learn enough to be able to ask an intelligent question, and to be able to intelligently select a plan... Does Verizon permit a subscriber to make "off-plan" calls? (I don't even know if that is the proper terminology), but what I am

| Porting Question | 17 Apr 2004 18:53 GMT | 4 |
I am looking to port to Verizon from Cingular. I read a post on this board where someone ported and now has to dial the area code & number with every call they make. Is that normal with porting or did this person have a problem of their own. Thanks

| Is Sprint a better option? Dumb question from a newbie. | 17 Apr 2004 18:39 GMT | 8 |
Can I get a Sprint phone and have the same coverage as a Verizon customer (according to many folks, Verizon has the best coverage where I live, DC area)? I read somewhere that Verizon and Sprint allow their customers to roam on each others network. If this is true, why

| Military Clause? | 17 Apr 2004 18:18 GMT | 5 |
I was hoping that someone might know if Verizon has a military clause to release you from your contracts. I recently moved to an area where verizon is not offered. Although I have a Nation wide the reception is terrible and I would like to try and get out without losing my deposits

| Pay-Less Cellular WARNING | 17 Apr 2004 16:21 GMT | 5 |
Just a warning to AVOID Pay-Less Cellular in Los Angeles. Payless is a re-seller of Verizon and Cingular and AT&T. They may lure you in with slightly better pricing but, in my opinion, thePay-less billing practices are unscrupulous and best avoided.

| LG VX4400B & Manners Mode | 17 Apr 2004 16:01 GMT | 6 |
The VX 4400B seems to be easy to unintentionally put into Manners Mode via the Voice Memo Key when the phone is closed. I've looked in the manual, but haven't seen a way to disable that key to prevent this from happening. Is there a way to do this, other than gluing the key so ...

| Number portability Question | 17 Apr 2004 15:35 GMT | 2 |
I am an ATT customer. I like the Sony Ericsson T616 model. It is available free on Amazon.com (infact you get back 150$ for a 2-yr agreement) while you spend 50$ if purchasing from att.com. The question I have is can I purchase a cell phone with ATT cellular plan from
