Credit Card users beware12 Jul 2004 05:41 GMT73
Apparently VZW have started in the last month or two using
debit/atm card processing against all the credit cards they
have on file, and only if that fails then do they try to access
them as a credit card.  Note that they do this even if you
Billing of PIX messaging12 Jul 2004 05:06 GMT2
I got billed this month for around 27 pix messages.  I have not sent
any pix or data messages.  Or received for that matter.  I have sent
many pix to my vzwpix site since we just had a baby.  The sending of
these pix to the site is supposed to be free.  Could they have screwed
Cellphone as modem??12 Jul 2004 03:36 GMT30
How reliable is using your cell phone as a modem? I heard this can be done
with many of the phones, including all the LG.
Any information on this would be very apreciated.
Service for a phone I already own12 Jul 2004 03:21 GMT9
I went to a Verizon store today to activate my AirCard 555, which I
already own.  After getting everything all set up they went over the
paperwork and told me this was for a 2 year contract.  I told them
that I already own the phone and don't want a contract.  They said
Glad my phone does analog12 Jul 2004 01:23 GMT5
Just returned from camping just south of Malone, NY and central Maine.  Both
times my phone went to analog (SCH-A650) to sendf and receice calls.  My
friend with his camera phone (all digital) had no service.  He was snapping
pictures but unable to upload them, or even call his ...
Verizon Store, Authorized dealer or web?12 Jul 2004 00:59 GMT21
Okay, one more question.  Now that I am somewhat armed with
knowledge (yeah, right!), is it best to deal directly with a Verizon Store,
a Verizon authorized dealer, or Verizon on the web?  Where are the
best deals to be found?
Mixed 800/1900 MHz coverage areas11 Jul 2004 22:25 GMT10
I've read where Verizon has both 800 and 1900 (PCS) MHz coverage
licenses in the same area.  The DC metro area (where I am located) is
one of those areas with both coverages listed in the PRL.  PCS is
listed with a higher priority than the 800 D/A coverage.
trip report11 Jul 2004 22:25 GMT3
If anybody cares...
Went with a friend today to ride his boat up and down the Illinois River,
starting from Ottawa. Going down IL-71, my 4400 briefly had a nervous
breakdown switching between SID 20 and SID 1178 near Newark.
Verizon provide the service of a message to callers that one's (Verizon) cell # has changed ?11 Jul 2004 22:25 GMT6
Does Verizon provide the service of a message to callers that one's
(sprint) cell # has changed ?
In other words, if someone has lived in Florida for years, then
switches to Verizon. But keeps her previous cell phone number from
Thanks to whomever removed an annoying switch setting  in my area11 Jul 2004 22:25 GMT5
Thanks to whomever turned it off. Previously if you had caller ID blocking
enabled and turned it off to make a call by using *82number you would hear

Has anyone out there heard the rumor that
VZW CEO is not setting up anymore digital
phones, wants to return to analog only, and
that is why VZW is not offering the digital

In Network is it unlimited or 1000 minutes?11 Jul 2004 19:37 GMT3
Just out of curiosity, I keep seeing adds on TV about "UNLIMITED" in
network, yet I keep seeing posts here, and bills that only show 1000
IN-Network Minutes...
Which is it? 1000 or unlimited?
