Some time back, I posted a question regarding Verizon cel-phone coverage in

Particularly how bad it was.

Data speed when NOT in an upgraded city?17 Mar 2005 01:40 GMT9
I live in Portland, OR, which isn't one of the cities where broadband
has been rolled out yet.  So I'm wondering - will the data speed (with
whatever PC card is current), fall back to GRPS, ie. around 50 kpbs?
Because if that's true, I'll probably stay with Cingular EDGE, which is
EVDO Thruput speed problem in the Greater Los Angeles areas.16 Mar 2005 21:53 GMT3
For the past 2 WEEKS!!!! I have had a severe (unuseable) thruput problem in
the downtown los angeles area. A call to Verizon's support group yielded
damn near nothing.
Figured this out on my own, if your having this problem, turn off the

Is it possible to have 2 active lines with separate phone numbers on a
single phone?
Like a "public" number and a "private" number for special people?
Thanks.
New bluetooth phones coming?16 Mar 2005 17:10 GMT16
I have a new Acura TL with bluetooth capabilites, but I really don't
like the Moto 710 because it is just to big and heavy for my tastes.
And I'm not at all interested in the camera (although I would accept a
smaller camera phone if I have no choice).  I just want a phone with
Questions on LGVX7000 and 800016 Mar 2005 17:04 GMT2
I will probably NE2 upgrade two phones (VX1 and VX4400) to either two 7000's
or two 8000's.
Can anyone answer the following questions on both/either models...
1) Will the phone with extended life OEM battery fit in the supplied
BitPim for LG VX320016 Mar 2005 11:55 GMT2
Will BitPim work on VX3200? It's not listed as a supported phone, but it
does have USB port. Am I really risking the phone setup if I try it?

A670 Am I missing soemthing here?16 Mar 2005 06:46 GMT1
Just got a Samsung a670 phone and a Moto V265.
A bit disappointed in the a670.... RF is as good as the v265, voice quality,
based on a limited test, is a bit better on the a670 however....
The external display  on the a670 is almost useless unless it is lit up.
Watch yer dog from work16 Mar 2005 05:25 GMT1
If your Verizon cam phone is Symbian OS you can download this free
mobcam thing which turns it into a webcam. You can then watch your dog
rip up the couch or worse.

V710, How do I turn off the camera shutter sound??? -more questions16 Mar 2005 04:51 GMT5
Can someone tell me how to turn the sound off for the camera shutter
on the V710?  I've read the manual and played around in settings
forever!  The only options I can see are to choose different sounds,
but none is not an option?
Motorola V265 and Mobile Office Kit16 Mar 2005 00:29 GMT8
Can anyone tell me if the Mobile Office Kit from Verizon will work with
the Motorola V265 and access the Internet via #777?  I am considering
dropping ATT&T/Cingular and replace it with Verizon and the V265 if it
can be used with the Mobile Office Kit.

Ringtones15 Mar 2005 20:02 GMT7
I just bought a new Audiovox VX6600.  Great Phone, except very low ringer
volume. Audiovox says that it is working on a "fix" but I am not holding my
breath.  I found a work around.  Any suggestions where I can find wave files
on the internet.  I want a "normal - dull" ringtone ...
