Adding out-of-state family member to plan?30 Apr 2005 16:59 GMT13
I'm thinking of adding my mother-in-law to my current family share
plan. We live in Washington DC and she lives in Maine. I'd like to use
an older VZW phone that I have lying around.
Any thoughts on the best way to do this? Can I bring the older phone to
Motorola 270c or LG VX6100?30 Apr 2005 16:38 GMT1
I have both phones for Verizon, the 270c capable of BT if I purchase the
battery, the vx6100 has 1x. My goal is to pair my PDA with the phone for
wireless DUN via my voice minutes.
What are the overall differences between using a non-BT 1x phone and a
Which EV-DO Phone? Use as Modem?30 Apr 2005 15:34 GMT2
I am interested in an EV-DO phone. I understand all three can't be used as a
modem. Any prospects that one will be offered soon that does it?
Additionally, I am intrigued by the lightness (2.8 oz.) of the Samsung; the
LG seems huge. How do these two phones compare in sound ...
How to get a new phone while still in contract?29 Apr 2005 23:30 GMT9
I need a bluetooth phone.  I am 7 months away from the end of my contract.
Verizon has one phone- V710  (besides the blackberry/treos)- with no new
Bluetooth phone coming in the near future.
I need this phone, but it seems that I have to pay full price (over $300).
DST Complaint29 Apr 2005 21:21 GMT27
Man, am I pissed!
The time on my LG VX6100 is set by Verizon's network. (Ever noticed you
can't set the time on your phone?)
I assumed Verizon would change to Daylight Savings time at 2:00 a.m.
Yes or No- does the v710 work with car bluetooth?29 Apr 2005 21:19 GMT1
I have heard conflicting things.  Some people including Verizon Cust Service
reps say that the Bluetooth on the v710 WILL NOT work with any car's
bluetooth system.
Some people including Verizon people say that the v710 WILL work.
LG VX7000 Bitpim question29 Apr 2005 15:48 GMT3
I've removed the verizon wireless banner, but is it also possible to remove
the date and time at the bottom of the main LCD as well?
Or at least remove the shading used as a background for the text?  What
about changing the red color used to display all of the icons like service
evdo latency?29 Apr 2005 15:42 GMT3
Has anyone here used VZW's evdo for remote interactive sessions (VNC,
SSH, etc.)?   Is the latency low enough for this to work well?
Thanks.

v620 for Data?29 Apr 2005 15:39 GMT2
After two people here recommended the 5220 card for hi-speed wireless
data, I called my local VZW store, and they only carry the Novatel
V620.  It's cheaper than the 5220.  Does anyone have any experience
with this card?

No more Mr. Nice Guy at Verizon Wireless29 Apr 2005 02:50 GMT52
I stopped by a VZW company store this afternoon-- my phone was having big
problems and I needed to do something about it. I asked the tech to put it
on the diagnostics machine-- only to be told all were pulled from the
stores. No more "find the problem and fix it" at the store ...

IN-Pulse prepay question28 Apr 2005 23:25 GMT1
I am looking for a 30 day solution for phone service.  Long story
short, I am going to join my wife and kids in the Verizon family plan,
but can't do it until the end of May.  I want to get cell service for
my wife now.  I have a Verizon phone I can activate, I think, but how
Data charges query - 1x/csd28 Apr 2005 08:40 GMT2
I've heard many people voice displeasure over VZW's sudden charging of
data calls using voice minutes.   My main question is:
Are the data calls being charges for both 1x and csd connections?
Clarification would be greatly appreciated.
