V265: AVOID THIS PHONE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!18 Jul 2005 20:41 GMT34
Just got back from a Verizon Service Center and the Tech filled me in on the
whole sorry mess.
The V265 has a design flaw which permits dust to accumulate on the ear and
mouth pieces causing loss of volume at both ends.

I'm getting ready to change from my old Verizon plan to another one. I'll be
going from one phone (LG TM510) America's Choice plan to two lines/phones
with shared minutes.
What phone should I get? I just want to make and receive calls...I don't

There's two new killer phones out now:  The Moto 810 and the LG 8100.
Anybody got an opinion on which is better?  They seem to have cured the

Internet Access - America's Choice18 Jul 2005 11:38 GMT5
I probably should have asked sooner, but hesitate to see this topic brought
up again.
However, tomorrow I leave for a several days of camping at a state park.  And
I'm wondering if I will be able to use Minutes of Use access as I did last

Is it possible to connect to Earthlink dialup with the vx-8000 for just
MOU? If so, how? Pointing to any links that can explain this to me would
be great.

My voice echoes back17 Jul 2005 22:08 GMT31
Occasionally when I make a call I will hear my own voice coming
back to me, delayed a few milliseconds. It happens with some
calls, but not with most, and makes conversing very difficult.
I've been in contact with the techs. They've been checking the
Is 1XRTT actually working well for anyone ?17 Jul 2005 18:37 GMT5
I've used the Verizon data service on and off
a few times over the past couple of years,
with a VX4400 - mainly when my 'real' connection
drops out, to ssh back into my router to investigate.
Samsung a670 vs. LG 6100 ?17 Jul 2005 17:57 GMT3
Getting either the Samsung a670 or LG VX6100
I'm looking for opinions/comparisons by those who may have tried both.
I had a 670 at one time and loved it. I see these are both comparable
in size, price, and features.

Verizon Push to Talk16 Jul 2005 23:13 GMT23
I am currently with Nextel and their Direct Connect is my primary means of
communication.  I am thinking of switching to Verizon and using their PTT.
I went to a retail store over the weekend, and the rep assured me that the
second rollout of Verizon's PTT is right there with Nextel ...
Coverage in Upstate N.Y.16 Jul 2005 23:07 GMT15
Just spent a weekend in Schoharie and Cooperstown and was extremely
disappointed in Verizon's coverage. We had 3 phones on both AC-I and AC-II
and all three performed alike. In Cooperstown the strongest signal we had
was two bars on all phones. In Schoharie we had "no service" on ...
How to get "Ring 4" from VX6000 on my VX8100?16 Jul 2005 21:27 GMT4
I've gotten really, really used to my VX6000's "Ring 4", and I switched
to a VX8100 today. Anyone know if there's a ring tone vendor out there
that has that particular tone?

activating Startac--no way!16 Jul 2005 10:35 GMT13
When attempting to activate a replacement startac (my older phone was
dropped and not repairable) I was told by Verizon that it could no longer be
activated due to "FCC" rules regarding the updated 911 rules...what
gives--is this true?  I can't believe that all the great startacs ...
