I was going to pick up my V620 yesterday and I wanted it activated
in the store.  The sales guy said he'd just need my driver's
license and Social Security Number.  I asked why and he gave me a
bunch of stuff about them just needing it, that it "just goes in

On a recent visit to Dallas my Startac dual band (tri-mode) refused to
register itself.  No matter where I went in the hotel near D/FW the phone
would not come up at all, continuing to show NS.  My wife's new Audiovox
worked just fine and came up with a great signal.
