I have a VX8300.  My wife and son have VX5300s.
My wife and I have Jabra JT135 bluetooth ear things.
The thing that goes over the ear broke on my wife's.  It still worked, but
wouldn't stay on her ear.  She put some duct tape over it.  Now it stays on

So, what's a good non-flip phone that had analogue capability and good
reception for making and reciving calls?
You know, something that works as intended as a phone.
No other features are necessary.

Do not get the newest firmware updates. They updated my LG VX8600 to V03,
and now it is locked. You can no longer access the Service Menu and when I
tried to do my weekly phone backup using Bitpim, I got the message that the
provider has blocked the directory.

If it came down to having a network without good coverage or having a
"toy" phone, I'd choose the network. I want to make and receive calls on
my cell phone and not have to worry if there is a signal. With Verizon,
I have service in many, many more places than AT&T does. That ...

Lately I've been getting text messages from people I don't know. Not
selling anything, just boring stuff like, "Call me when you get home"
or "How was the movie". The senders are sometimes from vtext.com but
often as not they have seemingly valid phone numbers, but with faraway

As you know Apple's iPhone is coming out on June 29 2007 in USA, and
some ppl are actually already standing in lines to get it :) The
biggest iPhone Forum online invites you to count down the hours to its
release and talk about it with 2,000 other registered members!

It would seem so from all of the Apple posts.

I finally got tired of Verizon's BULLSHIT about streaming with a EVDO card.
Seems they have taken to knocking my connection down to 1XRTT speed after a
short while.
Check out this vendor, they have deals on Sprint's EVDO Rev.A cards and USB

Is there anybody out there who unlocks Verizon phones (I have a V3m) so they
can be used with software to transfer ringtones, etc., back and forth?  I've
done everything listed on the message boards and so far all I've been able
to do is uncover some features that were locked out ...

I'm still interested in Verizon... it's a passing interest since I never
plan on using their wireless service again, but I like to read acv anyhow...
Can one of the regulars maybe post something about VZW?
Preferably something other than complaints about Verizon crippling firmware,

We just came out with a new software upgrade for the LG VX8300 that
gives it several new abilities. The new software update adds support
for stereo Bluetooth, MP3, Adobe Flash Lite, and modem capability. This
is I believe only the 3rd phone the VZW offers right now with stereo

I just checked the post on alt.cellular.verizon & guess what? Not a
single post out of 15 had anything to do with Verizon. It was all
about the iphone. Geez.....get a life or start an iphone NG. You can't
even get an iphone on Verizon.
