For some time, I've noticed that *22899 is a one-step way to do a PRL
update instead of the "*228, Option 2" method. You don't get any
prompt; you simply go straight to the update.
I'm surprised others haven't been recommending using this method as an
Any way to disable need for password when dialing voicemail from     phone31 Dec 2007 20:17 GMT37
I would think that the Verizon voicemail system could recognize my
phone and NOT prompt me for me password when calling into my voicemail
from my phone.
Is there a way to set this up?

Ringtones31 Dec 2007 17:07 GMT9
I'm more than a little bit confused about adding ringtones to my VX-8350.
First question is what format(s) is/are supported?  Is this a locked
feature with VZW that must first be unlocked?
If I get the USB cable that includes the software disc will that permit
E-mailing a text message to my phone?31 Dec 2007 04:43 GMT1
Many years ago, my computers at work were set up to e-Mail a short text
message to my cell phone when they needed "professional help".  The
address I sent to was something like 1234567890@msg.myvzw.com where
123456etc was the number of my cell phone.
Chocolate and VX8350 microsd card and mp3's31 Dec 2007 03:31 GMT4
Do I need the "music kit" to listen to music on these phones?  Can I
just use a microSD writer and copy MP3's on to the card, put it in the
phone, and listen to it?

Navigator and Bluetooth31 Dec 2007 02:39 GMT5
My daughter has the LG VX-8300.  Today she received a Motorola H700
headset.
The headset works well but we were surprised that the voice navigation
commands came through the speaker rather than the bluetooth headset?
Voyager as MP3 player30 Dec 2007 19:57 GMT1
I've read all the threads about the new Verizon Voyager,
but haven't seen any chatter about the "music player" feature...
How do you copy your (iTunes) library from PC to the Voyager,
and does it keep all the isame type of  index info like.... album, artist,
Using the Blackberry 7130e without using the Blackberry Service29 Dec 2007 13:52 GMT2
I'm looking for a smartphone/pda for contacts, calendar, etc.,
however, I'm not interested and too cheap for the data service. I like
the look of the Blackberry 7130e for Verizon. Is it possible to use
the device without the data service? I want to sync my Outlook

I was playing with a Verizon prepay phone that had expired

I give up. Help me out, guys.
Have been happy with my last two phones, v3m and e815, but it's time for my
upgrade. I have a headache from all the reading. Had it kinda narrowed down
to a few. I'm on a 1-year plan, so I'll give the prices with the phones,
Can I prevent dialed phone numbers in the main phone screen?25 Dec 2007 17:05 GMT1
In my new Blackberry 8800 series, I notice in the basic phone screen that it
shows "My Number" and it also shows the last recent calls made/dialed in the
lower half of the screen.
I don't mind MY telephone number being there (and I think there is an option
Hey Oxford - more reality24 Dec 2007 21:26 GMT239
Oxford has gone on and on about WiFi ruling the world
and killing off cellular in the future. The reality is that it NEVER will.
It looks like it's going backwards....
If they can't get it up and running in Geek central, it isn't EVER going to
