| Questions on Contract renewals, NE2, etc. | 31 Jan 2009 06:31 GMT | 14 |
My current verizon wireless contract (with four users) expires in March. I think we are now eligible to get new phones at a discount. My daughter is away at college, and her current phone is dying. Questions:

| Best option for US plan, with rare visits to Canada? | 20 Jan 2009 09:30 GMT | 18 |
We have a family Select plan with Verizon in the US. My son is going to Canada on a school trip later this month. I checked, and once in Canada, the meter will be running to the tune of 69 cents per minute for calls, and 20 cents per incoming texts.

| An Advantage of CDMA over GSM: No SIM card | 18 Jan 2009 20:05 GMT | 7 |
I couldn't find my phone this morning, I think I may have lost it somewhere. It was a very old phone, and due for replacement so it's not a terribly big deal if I don't find it, and I put down a supply of this model of phone last year as it's the last good tri-mode phone.

| Poor Reception | 17 Jan 2009 02:56 GMT | 34 |
I've been a Verizon Wireless Cusomer for a long time, starting when they were Bell Atlantic Mobile. I've always been relatively pleased, with no real reason to switch carriers. But I moved to a new home where the reception is mediocre. It is in a

| CDMA/GSM Voice Quality | 17 Jan 2009 01:10 GMT | 18 |
I am really a bit stunned, I have had reason to use a GSM phone for the last week (Blackberry 7280 on ATT in metro DC) and the voice quality is just superb. I really thought I would be with Verizon for the long hall and now have to think about it. The VZ coverage is

| Poor man's solution to tethering | 11 Jan 2009 15:29 GMT | 7 |
Now that Verizon no longer allows free tethering , I signed up for a free netzero dial-up account and use that to tether. Problem is it is quite slow, 14.4 kbps. I assume Verizon is not going to slap me with any extra fees for doing this? Anything I can do to increase the speed?
