Questions on Contract renewals, NE2, etc.31 Jan 2009 06:31 GMT14
My current verizon wireless contract (with four users) expires in
March. I think we are now eligible to get new phones at a discount. My
daughter is away at college, and her current phone is dying.

Circuit City Verizon's best day!21 Jan 2009 00:52 GMT39
If you haven't been to your local Circuit City to view the absolute
pandemonium of the sale that ISN'T a liquidation sale, yet, do so any
time this afternoon.  I just came from the one in North Charleston, SC.

Best option for US plan, with rare visits to Canada?20 Jan 2009 09:30 GMT18
We have a family Select plan with Verizon in the US.  My son is going
to Canada on a school trip later this month.  I checked, and once in
Canada, the meter will be running to the tune of 69 cents per minute
for calls, and 20 cents per incoming texts.
An Advantage of CDMA over GSM: No SIM card18 Jan 2009 20:05 GMT7
I couldn't find my phone this morning, I think I may have lost it
somewhere. It was a very old phone, and due for replacement so it's not
a terribly big deal if I don't find it, and I put down a supply of this
model of phone last year as it's the last good tri-mode phone.

I know this isn't a FiOS forum, but it's the closest I could find on my
server.
My mother has FiOS TV with a DVR. Does anyone know if it's possible for her
to get a second DVR? If so, will it be possible to watch programming on
Poor Reception17 Jan 2009 02:56 GMT34
I've been a Verizon Wireless Cusomer for a long time, starting when they
were Bell Atlantic Mobile.  I've always been relatively pleased, with no
real reason to switch carriers.
But I moved to a new home where the reception is mediocre.  It is in a
CDMA/GSM Voice Quality17 Jan 2009 01:10 GMT18
I am really a bit stunned, I have had reason to use a GSM phone for
the last week (Blackberry 7280 on ATT in metro DC) and the voice
quality is just superb.  I really thought I would be with Verizon for
the long hall and now have to think about it.  The VZ coverage is

Change in service quality.11 Jan 2009 20:40 GMT42
I live in a mountainous area in northern California.
Five years ago I switched to Verizon from ATt&T
because the CDMA prodocol worked so much better
in this area. I was also instrumental in many of my
Poor man's solution to tethering11 Jan 2009 15:29 GMT7
Now that Verizon no longer allows free tethering , I signed up for a
free netzero dial-up account and use that to tether. Problem is it is
quite slow, 14.4 kbps. I assume Verizon is not going to slap me with
any extra fees for doing this? Anything I can do to increase the speed?
