Dell is now shipping its new PowerConnect 2700 Series LAN switches that aim to simplify network connectivity for small and medium-size businesses. The Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switches offer advanced management features and scalability to meet future connectivity needs. The PowerConnect 2700 series can be deployed as unmanaged switches out of the box or converted to Web-managed switches with the press of a button. A Web-based interface reveals all the configuration parameters needed to set up and troubleshoot the switches. The series consists of the eight-port PowerConnect 2708, priced starting at $139; the 16-port PowerConnect 2716 priced at $269; and the 24-port PowerConnect 2724 for $369.

PalmOne's new handheld likely will be have a hard drive, Wi-Fi and a high-res display. In other words, it's a re-definition of the PDA that people should love, but only if palmOne lowers the price so people will actually buy the thing.
