Canadian Press - FORT WORTH, Tex. (AP) - RadioShack Corp. (NYSE:RSH) said Friday its first-quarter profit plummeted 85 per cent on dissappointing sales of cellular phones and a writedown of the electronics retailer's assets and inventory. Its shares fell nearly three per cent.

Worldwide shipments of cell phones grew 31 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier and will reach 1 billion this year, says a report Thursday by research company Strategy Analytics.
