Canadian Press - SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) - Cellphone maker Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) said Tuesday it is buying Netopia Inc. (NASDAQ:NTPA), which provides DSL gear and routing equipment to telecommunications companies, for $7 per share, or US$208 million in cash.

Canadian Press - LONDON (AP) - Vodafone Group PLC, the world's largest mobile phone company, on Tuesday reported a net loss of 5.1 billion pounds (US$9.7 billion) in the first half of its fiscal year, largely because of a large charge related to difficulties in its German and Italian operations.
