Germany plans second UMTS mobile phone licence auction in 2008

AFP - The German government is planning a second auction of UMTS third-generation mobile phone licences in 2008 after the first auction in 2000 raised a staggering 50 billion euros (65 billion dollars), the head of the networks regulator said in a newspaper interview.
